Spring

The early spring flowers are blooming already. I'm so excited. The tulips came in this week, but I didn't get a picture of them yet. It was a long winter, and I'm delighted to see flowers in bloom. It's a good sign that snow is behind us for the year. These flowers I didn't plant, but like clock work they come up every year.

Chubby Girl Post

I know the picture is lacking togetherness, but it will have to do for this post. I also know that so many of you have been missing the original chubby girl post. Today we will be discussing some of the things that chubby girls come in contact with daily that create problems, and how to compensate.
  1. 1. A chubby girl with a large behind may struggle with the height chart. Here's why. You are asked to place your heels at the back of the wall, maybe it's just me, but I can not complete this task. How do you compensate? Well a chubby girl will either suck it in and stand tall, or topple over trying to attempt it.
  2. If something has to be moved in a room full of women they will point to the chubby girl and say I'm sure she can probably move it. How do you compensate? Walk over and move it, or act like you're trying and don't budge it.
  3. The fashion world. I don't need to go here, but for the benefit of the post I will. A chubby girl knows she looks good no matter what and if you are feeling bad about yourself one day add an accessory. It just makes everything better. No matter what believe in yourself, and know beyond a shadow of a doubt you look great.
  4. Now I know this last point will get some giggles, but please pay attention to it. Do not I repeat do not work out during your lunch break of half an hour. No matter what the great intentions are here just don't do it. Chubby girl or skinny girl it doesn't matter there is just no need to work out in the middle of your work day. How do you compensate? Work out any other time of the day and if co workers want you to go with them during lunch for a work out tell them you already did.

Art Show

Thursday night was the annual art show up at the elementary. Brandon was so excited! Sierra received a blue ribbon first place for her art work. She was smiling from ear to ear. Brandon had talked about his mask he made for weeks and was very proud of it, however it didn't place. He was very bummed about this. It was another great opportunity to teach him about being happy for others, namely his cousin. He tried to come around, but there is still much needed work on this. Sierra didn't let Bub's attitude effect her though. She is a strong girl who would like her cousin to be happy for her, but isn't going to let him get in the way of her happiness. And if anyone can help Bub see his error Sierra will do it. Pooh & Mom have been helping me a lot with the kids since I've went back to work. I am so grateful for this two women. It gives me peace of mind to know that if I can't be there sometimes for my kids these two can be. Thank you mom & Pooh from the bottom of my heart.

Columbus Trip

Yesterday I went down to Columbus for a conference. I went down Friday morning with some girls from work so I didn't have to spend the night Thursday. I was relieved since I had no idea where I was going. I was a last minute add in so I didn't have all my papers that would be needed for directions. It was a lovely conference with motivated speakers throughout the day. My favorite part was the walk I took around Columbus. It was a sunshine filled warm walk that I greatly appreciated. There were a lot of trees and flowers in bloom that aren't in bloom quite yet up here. It was nice. I missed my children a lot though. I kept thinking how much they would have loved the walk and a different change of scenery. I hope to start taking them to some different scenery locations over the summer though.

The Many Updates

Well let me tell you all the little things going on with us. Brandon enjoyed a lovely Kalahari trip for his birthday from Grami. He had a blast! You can check more pictures out on Pooh's blog. Madeline placed 3rd in her track meet the other night, and is still working on getting those lovely warts healed up. They are looking better, but have a ways to go. God blessed me with a good job in public health that I started this week. The training is going well. The family is adjusting to the change pretty good. Well that's the lasted on our family.

Brandon's Birthday

Tomorrow is Brandon's 11th birthday. We had a family party today. He was so excited. The candles on his cake even sang Happy Birthday. (It seems some of us adults forgot the words to the song) It's hard to believe my baby is already eleven years old. Did I mention he is my baby? The youngest of my kids? I feel like time is moving so fast. Happy 11th Birthday Brandon!!! I will post more tomorrow but I've seem to gotten a little choked up writing this post tonight.

Science Fair

As I have posted earlier Madeline did a science fair project this year. She was selected to go to Heidelberg (?) for judging this past weekend. She had some pretty rough judging and was disappointed with the results. It was a good opportunity to remind her of the great opportunity it was and she started focusing on some of the good things about going to see the college. Disappointment is hard, but it is sadly a part of life. Things like this can be a great teaching tool to help your children and yourself as the parent.

Updated photo

I said to Maddie the other day how Aunt Poohie didn't like the picture I posted of her and Dave. Maddie has come up with the perfect picture of aunt Poohie and Uncle Dave. (You have to love kids)
